Windows Integrated Authentication on Trasa

Hi,

Is it possible to make users to authenticate passwordless onto Trasa, by using their existing authenticated session on Windows OS as part of Active Directory? Let say we want to avoid users to enter AD user account password one more time. How can we configure Trasa to make use of Windows Integrated Authentication?

Thank you, it seems to be a great product!

Hi,

Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated :slight_smile:

To answer your question, Kindly refer to the authentication scenarios below. If you are referring to Scenario 1, then No, passwordless login in the way you described is not possible.

If you are referring to scenario 2, and want to enable a passwordless experience for users to access the upstream server, you can save the credential in the TRASA vault and once users are authenticated with TRASA, they can connect to the upstream server without requiring to enter upstream server’s credential.

I hope this is helpful, let me know if this does not answer to your question.

Authentication scenarios in TRASA.

Scenario 1) Access TRASA dashboard.
Authenticate with TRASA username-password or LDAP/AD credential.

 __ __ _          __ __ __ _
| user   | ----> |  TRASA   |
|__ __  _|       | __ __ __ |

Scenario 2) Access upstream server via TRASA.
User will first authenticate to the TRASA proxy, then will authenticate with the upstream server.

                      (1)                         (2)
 __ __ _          __ __ __ _         __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ _
| user   | ----> |  TRASA   | ----> |  Upstream Windows server   |
|__ __  _|       | __ __ __ |       |__ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ _|

Hi,

Thank you very much for the answers.

I do refer to the first scenario.

Would it be possible to achieve the passwordless login with SAML and ADFS?

Have you seen any working integration of Guacamole with Windows ADFS? If so, do we also need LDAP integration while configuring SAML?

Cheers

Hi,
Support for SAML and ADFS is on the way for the next v1.2x release.

Have you seen any working integration of Guacamole with Windows ADFS? If so, do we also need LDAP integration while configuring SAML?

No, I haven’t seen or tried integration this way.

Regards.

Hi

When we should expect the new release v.1.2x of this great product?

Thanks
